Everywhere. Because drugs were not illegal until the beginning of the twentieth century. In fact Britain went to war with China to protect our trade in Opium. Opium was freely available in London and guess what?. It was taken by a few people at all levels of society but most people didn't bother. It was the US that started banning drugs at the same time that they banned alcohol and they put enormous pressure on other countries to join in. If you read a bit more of the history of drug use, and reflected properly on how society copes with alcohol you'd (hopefully) be far less fearful of the consequences of liberalisation. And you are still avoiding discussing that the current situation is not stable or sustainable. |
