| Quite a few states in America have now legalised cannabis and the whole social structure hasn't collapsed as some predicted.I think legalising all drugs is perhaps not the way to go but I think there should be a rethink on some drugs.There is absolutely no doubt crime statistics would alter dramatically if some drugs were decriminalised.During my time with the Met virtually every person arrested for street robbery,domestic burglary,car crime and otherblow value crime had an association with drugs.If some drugs were decriminalised,they could be available at licensed outlets which could control the supply and purity of the drugs.The government,of course would want their share of any transaction so that would go into the tax pot. |
