Hello James - and hope you are well. You must know how difficult it has become to park in the street where I live. Since you were here last, it is increasingly bumper to bumper, and it can be tough to manoeuvre in and out of spaces. This is to say nothing of the parking at corners - and the fact that many streets in North Grove Park are now de facto one-way. If you live south of the railway and east of Kew Railway Bridge, you do not have a problem. I would ask some understanding for people so happily situated for those of us who are yards from the A4. We are the first port of call for workers north of the A4 who dump their cars here all day and for holidaymakers who park here, load their luggage into Heathrow-bound taxis and disappear for weeks on end. Yesterday at 8.30 I drove from Chiswick Mainline Rail back to my home which is yards from the last sliproad before the M4. I counted three car spaces along the whole distance home. The parking may not always be that intense, but there is a clear problem - and I wish that people opposed to a CPZ would recognise the changing facts on the ground. |
