"Yes you could have David, but you forget that back in 2012, it was LBH's clearly stated policy that "we will not consider any CPZ in only one or two roads, as all this does is to displace any parking problems into neighbouring streets. A CPZ can only be applied on an area wide basis".Of course, once Councillor Mayne decided to override the unanimous CAF decision on CPZ, that bit of policy was quietly removed from the LBH website as it would have looked a bit silly wouldn't it. Dan - I think you may have missed the point I was trying to make. Perhaps I didn't make it well enough. I know that LBH policy guidance used to be against single road CPZ's but PR/SR wasn't the first. LBH Councillors had already gone against the policy by declaring single/two road CPZ's in Brentford. Cllr Mayne was only following others in not following policy advice. Cllrs are entitled to do that. As Cllrs Lee and Oulds said at the meeting on Wednesday - we are not delegates - we make decisions on the basis on what we think is best for our residents. |
