Marie, you are too kind. My current favourite example is in the documents submitted by our Traffic officers for this evening's CAF meeting (I hope you are coming..!!!) They record the fact that the recent 12-road consultation for extending the CPZ beyond the current 2 roads and into a further 12 roads, returned a result of 7 roads in favour and 5 against. And these are roads which have been heavily affected by the displacement from Park & Staveley, so they reckoned on getting a 100% vote in favour. So what do they propose to do about the 5 roads who said no? They are recommending that our CAF simply authorises extending the CPZ into the 7 roads, and then writing to residents in the 5 roads and saying "All your neighbouring roads are now getting a CPZ. Want to change your mind now?" I cannot think of a more cynical, contemptuous, and bullying approach to getting the results they want. it is clear they will stop at nothing until every road in GP is forced to accept a CPZ. Their "consultation" should be torn up and thrown out. The officers responsible should be severely disciplined for even sending out that 12-road consultation in direct contravention of clear directive from our CAF that no further consultations should be done until the CAF had agreed exactly who should be consulted, and how it was to be done. The Traffic Officers simply decided to ignore that and go ahead with it anyway. Why are the results from that Consultation allowed to form part of the agenda and supporting documents for this evenings meeting? Search me. The whole thing is so underhand, undemocratic, and rigged, that it defies description. personally, I would fire the whole lot of them and start again. They are incorrigible. |
