"What i can't understand about local ward Councillors is why they insist on asking people in roads with no commuter parking if they want a CPZ" David, it's really difficult to know how to respond to someone who insists on saying black is white. You must know (you must!!) that the Traffic Officers at LBH have doggedly pursued their clear aim of an area wide CPZ in Grove Park precisely by IGNORING all the roads that are generally anti-CPZ (which is the overwhelming majority of roads in Grove Park as we all know). When consulting on the 2-Road CPZ, they ONLY consulted with Park and Staveley and deliberately excluded all the neighbouring roads who were so clearly impacted by the CPZ in those 2 roads. This is exactly the opposite of what you have claimed. When over 400 residents in other roads sent in written objections to the CPZ they were comprehensively ignored by Traffic Officers. This is precisely the opposite of what you are claiming. Their responses were effectively thrown in the bin. And with the more recent 12 road extension CPZ, the Traffic Officers ONLY consulted with the roads who had already asked for a CPZ, in the sure knowledge that the result would be clearly pro-CPZ. They deliberately EXCLUDED all the neighbouring roads who would surely be impacted by the displacement. Which is exactly the opposite of what you have claimed. Worse than that, the Traffic officers spent public money on sending all the residents in those 12 roads FREEPOST envelopes to make it nice and easy for them to respond. For everyone else in Grove Park (who are legitimately entitled to have their views heard), Traffic Officers refused to inform them of the consultation, they simply said they could download a form from their website, if they could be bothered. And if they happened to read about it on the W4 Forum. And they would have to pay their own postage. Dozens of people did exactly that, but what did Traffic officers do with their perfectly valid responses? They threw them in the bin and didn't even include them in the final results. This is exactly the opposite of what you have claimed. What we are hoping our councillors will do this week at the CAF is accept the principle that ALL residents in Grove Park will be affected by a CPZ (displacement affects everyone), and so ALL residents should be consulted. That's all we are asking for. That everyone's view is heard. What you have claimed in your post is so inaccurate it's hard to respond to. I really can't work out if you genuinely believe it, surely you can't? |
