It seems to be part of the modern trend for building large sructures with the daftest shape possible. Architects then award each other prizes and plaudits for daring and innovative design. I remember it happening in the 60s with blocks of flats which are now slums and eyesores, and this area has been a target for developers for many years. Why not create a public space such as a park there? Of course I know the answer: parks don't generate huge amounts of cash. |
