I agree with Fred; the developers continuously put up unappealing projects. They are in no hurry to build, they are earning a fortune in revenue from the advertising hoardings (which just get bigger) whilst having little or no out goings. What I don't understand is how come they are allowed the hoardings they have at the moment? I was under the impression that they were only allowed such hoarding around sites that have work in progress; there clearly is not any work going on there and hasn't been for many years. When ever this gets mentioned a digger turns up for a week and moves stuff around, then goes away again and the site owners get revenue for another year; its a farce. Unfortunately this land mark site has become a land mark con and the design currently being put forward is a landmark advertising hoarding. As some one who lives close to the roundabout I would welcome something original on the site but one that improves the site for the people who live here and will have to live with it. What I don't want is a giant advertising hoarding (do we actually want or need any corporate graffiti) stuck on top of a crap structure that pretends to be some thing other than a support to a giant Corporate graffiti board. |
