I’m cynical when I hear Kim Gottleib’s honeyed words about the ‘primary objective’ being a ‘gateway landmark ‘ and the developer’s ‘lofty and grand aspirations’ The developers say that ‘Just 25,000 square foot of office accommodation is planned with additional revenue sought through advertising’. If that’s the case, why don’t they produce an honest representation of exactly how the building will look with all the advertising spaces up and running? The Council seem to have been duped into taking their collective eye off the ball regarding the car showroom on the Hogarth roundabout, and the result is an advertising eyesore that would never have been permitted if applied for in a direct way, but that cannot now be regulated. Let's try to avoid a repeat of that |
