Sorry to intrude upon this conversation, but I promise to get some information and images to the good folk at ChiswickW4 soon, so that your views (critical or favourable) may be based on fact. This may take a few days so please bear with me. A couple of points just for now: First the site isn't the one in the middle with the plane trees, it's the one in front of B&Q surrounded by advertising hoardings. Second, at 52m high the proposal would be the same height as Vantage West, and a fair bit shorter than the BSi Tower at 64m, and whole lot shorter than the Pinnacle scheme (120m) which caused something of a stir a few years ago. Third, the site already has planning permission for a 59m tall, 200,000 square foot office scheme. By comparison the current proposal has approximately 25,000 square foot of office accommodation. Lastly, the primary objective of the current proposal is to provide a gateway landmark at a key juncture on the most important route into one of the world's greatest capital cities. This might sound like a lofty and grand aspiration, but we believe that the site deserves it and that the proposal will achieve this. We hope to demonstrate all this to you in due course. |
