| I have always liked the Ark and still enjoy it every time I drive past. This new project is certainly "novel" but I must admit to being somewhat amazed at the sheer height of it from the pictures on the front page here. The design seems almost threatening, dwarfing its surroundings and would be extremely visible from a long way off. Doesn't seem appropriate if visible to/from our High Road or Kew Bridge and the river. Against the backdrop of the flyover and those tower blocks its more fitting. Will it be very brightly illuminated - poor ole boirds, they'll never get to sleep. On balance, I think its too OTT for that particular site - a giant collapsed metal heap, all scrunched up to be squeezed into a very narrow confined space. It's wasted banged up against the flyover, it needs space to soar. NO, its not for Chiswick/Brentford, it needs a larger area and I hope it does not get the go ahead. |
