| Just to add to the point about likely impact of closing Weltje on other roads, I have 2019 traffic surveys done at all junctions along the C9 route. The proportion of eastbound/right turn to westbound/left turn into Weltje was 44% and 56% respectively. If traffic patterns haven't changed, then the majority of traffic using Weltje was coming from east of Weltje, not west. That's why I think a lot of this traffic will be coming from the north. The impact on Dukes Ave a mile away is likely to be minimal. In 2019 the proportion of traffic entering Dukes Ave from CHR was 30% eastbound/right turn and 70% westbound/left turn. |
