| LBHF did remodel the Weltje Road junction after the initial spate of injuries. https://www.chiswickw4.com/default.asp?section=info&page=cyclehighway090.htm Although more could have been done including a different paint scheme at the junction, as far as I am aware there haven't been any serious collisions here since this work was done (although Michael suggests there was one in 2024). My own view is that the bigger contribution to safety here has been the sharp increase in usage of the Cycleway particular by dockless hire bikes, e-bikes and delivery riders compared with 2023. Safety in numbers. If there has been a continuing record of injuries at the junction, LBHF should be publishing the data it has on this to avoid the same accusations that TfL faced when it released spurious safety statistics to justify the A4 widening scheme by Hogarth Roundabout. |
