| So Adrian, are you claiming that the road network is fixed for perpetuity and no changes can be made, ever? Also residents cannot ever seek to improve their street and should accept whatever is there when they move in? If that were true, then Beverley Rd access to Chiswick Lane wouldn't have been closed off to stop traffic rat-running between CHR and Chiswick Lane. Can I assume that you are shocked and appalled at this and will be asking for access to be opened up again so Homefields, Airedale etc. are once again short cuts for drivers. It would be totally hypocritical of you to oppose this. Even if it meant thousands of vehicles going past your front door. There are government guidelines for volumes of vehicle crossing cycle lanes and LBHF has known since before any cycle lanes were built that Weltje exceeded this. Perhaps they were just hoping that nothing would happen? In contrast, for the Hounslow section of C9 along CHR which has been properly designed, the number of all casualties are at the lowest level for at least 15 years. |
