| As it happens I walked past this junction this morning and took a moment to watch for a few minutes. As a motorcyclist I was trained ALWAYS to look back over your shoulder when making certain manoeuvres to ensure safety. What stuck me this morning was not one cyclist did this. Not one. All sailed through as though the junction didn't exist. Motorists coming from Chiswick have a clear view of C9 before turning into Weltje Rd however approaching from Hammersmith a driver needs to be aware of cyclists approaching from behind who may be tricky to see or in a possible blind spot. The same applies to most turning where C9 is immediately adjacent to traffic. What I am saying is all users, drivers and cyclists, need to pay extra attention at these junctions if they don't want to end up as a statistic. |
