| An entire area of Chiswick - Chiswick Wharf, Regency Quay, Pumping Station Rd. Corney Reach, Grantham Rd., Corney Rd, Edensor Rd and Alexandra Gardens is now to be cut off from Grove Park - the surgery, railways station and pharmacy. The only way out of these areas will be along the A316 to the dangerous Hogarth roundabout - already heavily congested most of the day. The only way west along the Great West Road will be via the Hogarth roundabout too. The E3 bus route will be much effected as cars forced to turn right at the Edensor Rd traffic lights will block buses wishing to go left. This half-baked scheme is opposed by all our local Councillors. Residents in the areas above were given no warning and there was no prior consultation. I shoudl add that the previous limited time-based scheme on access along Staveley Rd by Chiswick School made sense and worked fine. This is a MONSTROUS new initiative, based on no statistical evidence (if traffic has increased along Burlington Lane it is because of the restrictions previously introduced to ban through traffic on Stavely Rd). It should be resisted by all means possible. |
