| It looks as if Hounslow wants to keep on good terms with central government by not regarding residents' objections as sufficient 'evidence' for withdrawing their main South Chiswick scheme. Ealing, on the other hand, seems to be taking a different line, so we'll see where that gets them. Of course Ealing had traffic reduction schemes all over the borough, while for some reason Hounslow only had the one in Chiswick. I'm surprised no other parts of Hounslow were thought to potentially 'benefit' from such a scheme. I can't help thinking that the Grove Park scheme was entirely set up as a test bed for different kinds of experimental and unproven ANPR camera technology - timed Access Only, Resident Permit exemptions and school time closures. I wonder who has shares in the camera company and if the company gets a slice of the penalty income! |
