| Because by the time I got through to ask, it would be too late to have any meaning. From HMRC: "Time to answer phone currently: 8 minutes 22 seconds" "This month, the percentage of customers who waited more than 10 minutes to speak to an adviser: 34.9%" And when you do get to any advisor, they seldom have a helpful response on the first pass, so you can spend over an hour, and have a reasonably good chance of being cut off in mid call, with no solution except another half hour wasted, and increased blood pressure. So while the HMRC Head might be a cracking good fellow, perhaps he should address the nuts and bolts of his organisation and bit more |
