| That's what it is: "The Mayor’s Transport Strategy sets out his aim for cycling journeys in London to increase from 2% of all journeys in 2001 to 5% by 2026. This means getting more people to take up cycling in London, as well as getting existing cyclists to cycle more often." Does not seem to be huge gains for the amount of money and efforts spent. As for TfL's promise of cleaner air - it's typical TFL: if one wants to solve a problem - first need to establish exactly what the problem is, then - what exactly the biggest contributors are, and then - find efficient ways to deal with them. But of course if it's the matter of PR and ticking the box (which is typical for TFL and the Mayor and a lot of others) - then it's completely different. |
