They are also easy to see and hear (I believe that as electric vehicles become more prevalent, some form of mandatory noise will be in force). if there is an incident, they can at least be identified and there is a high chance that you will have some redress because they wil also be licensed and insured. I have yet to be abused by a driver at a pedestrain crossing because I had the temerity to use it. I also agree that it does indeed seem pertinent that there is a large amount of motor traffic in the image but not a single cyclist... and it's not even raining. I am amused that you seem to be very interested in science in this instance but have ignored all the peer-reviewed studies and theses that I cited (not to mentino TfL's own figures) as they don't agree with the wishful thinking about cycle use, current and projected. |
