| Unlike you I do not sit on this Forum - just as and when - it is so cumbersome it requires a lot of time to be able to follow threads. If you were injured did you report it to the Police? A CAD number? Where was it? I have lived here since 1976 and previously in 1972/3 - and given there have been crashes where drivers have hit both people walking and cycling it is luck rather than judgement that you have not witnessed it. Likewise I walk in the High Rd when not on my bike and have never witnessed more than a handful of people cycling on the pavement a year - so I must have that coffee with you and we can compare and contrast. I did stop and ask to meet up - and when I pointed out how hideous Dolman corner is you agreed there are good and bad in all. Imagine my despair then when you post nothing but anti cycle stuff. Have you not seen these amazing mothers and fathers using baboebikes with which they can transport anything up to 4 children without having to use a car - many of these younger parents do not own cars. I am not defending any behaviour - just rather incredulous that for some reason it happens to you so often and yet not one mention of a Police report and given how much time I shop locally I do not witness this. Interesting too that I have posted web sites for you to look at - say Wheels for Wellbeing which is for disabled people who cycle - and yet 1) you accused me of giving out Propaganda when I was giving out links to that at the Debate (ergo all I can deduce is that you do not want any evidence as to the way cycling can be so amazing for those for whom walking or driving is impossible and 2) to be ashamed you need to reflect on the fact that not once have you shown any concern about the people both walking and cycling who have been injured or killed. Was it your response or someone else's to the news that a child had been run over that children are to blame for running out, wearing headphones or - wait for it - glued to their mobile phones - now I wonder where we heard that before. |
