| .....said somebody who didn't use pedestrian infrastructure correctly, walks along cycling infrastructure as he didn't respect the signage, and then criticises the correct useage of cycle infrastructure by cyclists (please check numerous posts re cycling on pavements for any signs of hypocrisy). I'd be stunned if the average speed of cyclists was 37mph - i can only think they left the app on whilst driving and then were speeding - hang on, that was achieved during the Tour of Britain when the roads were closed to traffic and achieved by pro cyclists including British favourite, Alex Dowsett. BTW there has always been a queue of traffic to turn right into Northumberland Ave. The left hand lane is still pretty quick. Only now, the cyclists don't have to pick their way through three lanes of traffic, but can average 15 mph. Before the cycle lane was built, I had to pick up a poor girl who had been knocked off her bike outside the RNLI station by a large lorry close passing her. Her bike was mangled and she was extremely shaken. To my knowledge this has not happened since the lane was built - cyclists shouldn't need to be lucky to survive a commute. BTW, why should I not do 20mph average if the conditions allow? |
