Laurance, I'm trying to found out who you are quoting when you say... "FOr example 'sceularism is the only truth and the mainstream absolute - therefore that is what should govern the main broadcasting channnels. All lesser worldviews and faiths should be sidelined and only broadcasted on less main stream channels.'" Who ever said that was contradicting themselves. Secularism allows for other worldviews and faiths and is not absolute. Or have made up a straw man argument? It exactly matches your misunderstand of what secularism is. Atheism is about not having faith. Humanism is the closest you'll come to a religion for those that are atheists and is a belief system but not a faith. Secularism is about not including faith in some areas but not about excluding those that have faith, it just means you can't use the god card to win an argument or get preferential treatment (especially against other religions). |
