| As one of the evil NCT mums who uses Shack (that may change now), I have to say that it really seems silly of them to have taken this strategy. Walk into Shack any afternoon of the week and it's a desert - hardly any customers at all. Either they should shut in the afternoons or welcome the mums who feel happy being there. Our group meets at 3pm, never fails to spend less than £10 per head, we stay no more than two hours and have small, well behaved infants. We also always sit at the back of the restaurant away from other 'normal' customers when there are any. We have suggested that Shack offer snack platters for us to order since many of us would happily eat (and therefore spend more money) but were told that they're not interested in doing that. We've also now been told that when we book their upstairs venue for events that we cannot leave buggies downstairs - where on earth are we supposed to put them? Ultimately, we are paying customers who also dine out regularly with friends - having been treated very rudely as a visiting mum, I'm certainly not meeting friends there for dinner any longer. What a shame - the venue started out with real promise. |
