I suspect most people around here don't drive to work. They will take the car once a week to the supermarket, and get the big shop. The rest of the time, you are just popping in for things like milk and bread on the way home from work. I wouldn't go all the way home and get the car to get a pint of milk and a loaf of bread. I'd get it on the way. Supermarkets tend to have their own car parks anyway and, outside of London, are often out of the town centre. They are normally part of the problem for local high streets. |
