Why is it odd? Don't you think that you could read that report and still think that other things are more important and interesting than parking for CHR? I haven't argued against parking. I'm just not interested in the reduction of every attempt to discuss how to enliven Chiswick down to parking. There isn't a shortage of parking here and there still won't be in two years. I prefer to focus on the things that I believe are more important. So did the Producer of the Panorama programme. I think that lack of leisure and entertainment facilities makes Chiswick High Road less of a destination than other places that have these. As well as a grim car park, Richmond has two theatres and a cinema. Hammersmith has the Lyric and it is brilliant. The cinema will partially correct this anomaly for CHR but we need much more and we need to move on from the obsession with retail. One opinion I do have on parking is that unrestricted free parking in Chiswick is an utterly stupid idea. I am sure that you can figure out for yourself why that is. This is the last time I am going to tell you this: I'm done with arguing with you about a cycle path because the battle is over. Live with it. Or don't; I care not. There are many more things under the sun. Life moves on. |
