I don't know how much of the claim that Amazon and Google and a few others only pay ten bob in tax, but if it is true then HMRC should be empowered to force them to pay their full wack and some of that tax take used to subsidise high street shops. A busy high street is a boon for everyone and helps to stops towns becoming run down and shabby.Such places can become unattractive for house buyers and the spiral goes only one way.On parking, a properly enforced maximum 2-3 hrs park might help, as some people may want to buy goods too large or heavy to carry. |
