Social justice in this case would have been that house borrowing limits would again have been controlled if TB/GB had given back the Old Lady her earlier powers. But they didn't. Property values went through the roof. People adjusted their financial lives to the new values. Then a new false Social Justice arose saying we shall MT you. IMO this is one of the worst sins flowing from the TBGB period. £10 per week might be small, but not when it rises after just a few years to nearer £100 p.w. Looking forwards instead of making cheap short term shots is more beneficial. A fixation about prices always rising is reckless. Socially diverse through the powers of thinking??? Fulham was pretty rough when I was a student. Pretty well heeled now. And it's now happening belatedly in Hackney. Posh Hackney indeed. Southall next. |
