The NI raised from 25 million workers and their employers was obviously a lot more than the extra NI paid by the NHS.. So a transfer in of £1bn would only be worth £960m .. still worth doing. And the extra NI paid by the NHS went back to the Treasury, to fund govt spending anyway.. so not a lost cost to the taxpayer.. so it doesn't support your assertion . If the charge is Labour didn't regulate the banks enough, then of course Osbourne was calling for more deregulation before 2008. However generous Brown's spending was, it was the Banks wot done it ... You might notice that USA, France, Germany, etc where Gordon Brown wasnt in charge, but governments of the right were, also has a financial crisis. |
