| David, much as I agree with you about CS9, I can't agree about Brentford. Have you been here lately? The whole south side is boarded up with no evidence of demolition behind, the Magpie & Crown has closed and on the north side we are poorly served by retail. We have Morrisons at the east end of the High Street (for the time being), Goddards, a pharmacy, an opticians, Mini market (Al Shaarm),tanning shop, Martins and Food Link. Further down there's a tile shop, Naked Grain, a nail bar and CostCutter. No Post Office and one bank. Oh, and so adding to the charming retail atmosphere, two betting shops. There's a couple of dry cleaners and two cafes. Apologies if I've missed anyone out. Our next delight is KFC. I don't really think, no matter how much parking Brentford may have in the short term (bearing in mind it's nowhere near built yet) that Brentford will ever pose a threat to retail in Chiswick....or anywhere else really. |
