| Retailers themselves are telling you it won't, Guy. And when your idyllic dream results instead in more accidents, more pollution, more slow-moving traffic especially as bus transport is being restricted more than before, and our lovely mature trees have gone, will you reverse it? No, we will be stuck with a High Road even more clogged than now,more polluted and unpleasant, with fewer trees, less attractive to sit outside restaurants on, and with more empty shops. The Chiswick High Road will slowly slide into decay, crippled by the lack of people coming to shop, eat and drink. However, the cyclists who whizz through simply trying to get from A to B won't mind. |
