Hi Guy To continue- I seem to remember there were a few cars not moved but the vast majority of the road was clear - I think the contractor used it as an excuse not to do the job. Most residents put themselves out and parked on the other side of the tracks. Remember with Burlington Lane out and Staveley road and park road with new restrictions there was no where near to park. So these residents who put themselves out didn’t get a clean road and the contractor used it as an excuse not to do the work. This meant all the household for this end of chiswick had no where to park. If they had done it in stages I’m sure there would have been no problem. There was a lot of fuss and parking tickets were eventually cancelled. See the W4 website as it was a news story. It needs managing in a sensible way - I think you’ll find if the contractors were more sympathetic to residents issues and acted in a collaborative way then there would have been no issue. They should clean one side at a time or one end at a time. Kind regards Charles |
