If the leaves are on the road then this problem began to be noticed when a new system of road sweeping began around last March. Since then the gutters have only been swept every now and then. And the streets have been patchy. I have been banging on about it to HH since then to no effect. As you can see being a lay assessor does not confer magical powers. Burnaby is particularly bad and Fauconberg is a nightmare at the best of times. In fact it took the road sweepers an hour and a half a couple of weeks ago and they did a decent job and had 30 sacks at the end of it. The next day Fauconberg looked as though it had never been done. In Chiswick leaves are a particular problem and I don’t think HH are on top of it. It frustrates me as much as it frustrates you. I have asked HH about your enquiries but I cannot guarantee that I will get an answer. The obvious thing is to contact a Councillor and get him/her to come and have a look. Councillor Lambert is Lead for the Environment and it could be worth contacting him. |
