While Paul is stating he personally won't go and shop at those who choose to fly the poster, one can certainly take the view that going around and taking individual pictures of business premises and then tweeting them out with text captions can only be seen as sending out a message of action. What next, should those not displaying the poster be subject to the opposite view and premises have a photo put on social media with some text to boot. That is not supporting local business, that's taking a selection of shops down for having a hands-on personal view. Certainly can be taken as promoting a boycott by the back door, but is done on a personal basis to remove that argument. Except when you go out your way to take and tweet,it can be seen as positively the opposite. It is a strange position to take when it is about local buisness trying to operate and survive, and all for puting a poster up should that be rubbished on twitter |
