Jo, you made a specific and important claim, that there was an “immediate nosedive” in sales when parking was removed. This would be a very strong argument in favour of reinstalling parking on TGT. Parking was removed on TGT on 6 May. At that time, the only shops open were supplying food so it is clear your claim must be referring to an “immediate nosedive” in their sales at that time. To now say I’m being selective in the choice of dates and shops risks undermining your specific claim which must be based on exactly that choice. But if you have the data that shows sales nosedived immediately after 6 May, then why delay sharing it, especially given your assertion that sales are continuing to fall? If that is indeed the case, you would be only prolonging the damage to retail by withholding any “factual, comparative and compelling” sales figures. Surely the right time to share your data is right now! |
