Tom, Complete and utter tosh when Devonshire Road had its restrictions put in place its effect were immediate and sustained to this day ! Ask Top Hat and Chiswick Pets. There are plenty of comments by both business owners and their customers as to how these undemocratically imposed restrictions have adversely affected businesses on these 2 streets. Re TGT, Covent Garden, Mackens and a couple of other food oriented shops are doing well BUT that's because they offered a delivery service, thereby adding to their OH's in very challenging times. However, retailers like hairdressers, beauty parlours, clothes shops, dry cleaners have not faired well because the parking was removed and their services are not transferable. I'll tell you again, come down from your Imperial College 'ivory tower' and live in the real world. Oh and one other thing I wonder if your employer is aware of how much time you spend, during working hours, on this Forum and other social media ? If you were an employee of any of Chiswicks hard pressed independent traders, it can only be speculated as to how long it would be before you were given the Smith & Wesson Pension Plan ? Don't worry though I doubt anyone will spill the beans. Show some understanding and empathy. |
