Carrie - As Rabid Robin points out, facts should be accurate, otherwise they are not facts. Your inaccuracies indicate you have a careless attitude to facts and that what you claim to be facts may not be so. Ergo you are not taken seriously. And as for the idea that students need to be pushed into activism - having been a student in the early 1970s when we took part in various forms of activism, the surprise is that student activism has been relatively low-key in recent years, not that it is now once again creating headlines. However, no doubt many of the present-day activists will graduate and turn into merchant bankers and media talking heads, just as their predecessors did. |
