As has been already stated, we can pay for higher education if we free ourselves from being slaves to the bankers. Instead of continuing to produce money with interest and debt attached to it, we have to take control of the supply of money. Which is why I brought up Ireland. Soon we will throw more good money after bad money trying to prop up the failing banking system, all with added debt. And after Ireland with come Portugal, Spain, Greece, etc... Of course I know the difference between a one off loan and funding fees in perpetuity. Do you Sean actually understanding fractional-reserve banking. But do you know the difference between what is legal and what is moral? How does Wales, Scotland and Ireland pay for their education? How does a place like Argentian provide free education, as does Cuba. How is it managed in other European countries? Our fees are already among the most costly in Europe and if trebled will be among the most expensive in the WORLD. The aveage across all sectors in the US is around £7,000. Sweden, Finland, Denmark charge no fees. The ConDem gov is effedtively privatising the universites. The entire burden of higher education is falling on individual students. If there is the political will, then of course as a country we could provide free higher education. And lets no forget this is also about them cutting the EMA allowance. A mere £30 per week, paid to some of the poorest students in the country, and based on them having 100% attendance. Imagine what will happen when all those young people are unable to afford to stay on in education.Does the right wing really think they can control these young people with soliders from the front line of wars. ? You must be mad. Anyway Sean, seeing as you dont seem to understand why us throwing our money(with interest on it) is bad, and can be referred to when talking about paying for education...may I suggest you watch this film that might explain a few things to you... |
