"ride a bike do you Dan? i doubt it" "come on Dan. wheres your bluster now?" Where's my bluster? Really? First, I do 95% of all my travelling by walking, cycling, or public transport. I rarely, if ever, drive anywhere. I have been a keen cyclist both around town and for leisure for 20 years or more. So less of your ill informed presuppositions about my personal transport policies - you know nothing, which is about typical for whining lefties like you. Secondly, in all the 20 years I have been cycling round London I have never been knocked off my bike by anyone, ever, primarily because I am extremely road aware and look where I am going all the time. From your story, you got knocked off because (at least partly) you weren't paying enough attention to the road around you. If a big vehicle - 4X4 or Bus, Van whatever, comes near me when I am cycling I avoid it even if that mean stopping. They are made of metal and I'm not. The fact that you didn't tells us all we need to know about your road sense. Typical for a whining lefty - you expect everyone else to look out for you and when things go wrong you immediately blame the guy with the biggest car. |
