As a driver (not of a 4x4) I find that road users of all types can be very inconsiderate. Cyclists on the evening commute (particularly in the winter) often don't have lights/reflectors and some have a very cavalier approach to lane discipline and red traffic lights (in one case running an old lady over at the pedestrian lights on Kensington High Street). While I recognise this is the minority it is really frustrating to be put at risk of injuring somebody (despite being very cautious around cyclists) because of their recklessness. If everyone (cyclists, drivers etc etc) were a little more observant and considerate then there would be considerably less risk on the roads. |
