Human history is littered with circumstances derived from a struggle between the two basic types of players- the dominator strategy and the co-operator strategy. Neither are intrinsically "wrong" they just have differing results. The co-operator strategy yields the best results overall for the whole field. I have a feeling that the dominator strategists aren't aware of their actions as their "take" mentality leaves them isolated. The co-operators, however, always feel the pinch of a dominator strategy when it arises, but can bear a lot due to their pooled resources. Driving style is simply another telling factor of where you stand evolutionarily. My desire for 4x4s to go out into the country and help old ladies in cottages is based on co-operator strategy with the tools at hand. The dominator burden could be lightened by a giving gesture. |
