| So where have I got this wrong? According to the meeting agenda there will be a vote and, as it is a full council meeting, that will be of all councillors. Isn't this more democratic than a vote by the majority group? My earlier post was slightly confusing. What I meant to say was that Cllr Rajawat has every right to make it clear who he would like to serve as Mayor but each councillor can still vote for their preferred candidate. Are you saying that there is a way for alternative candidates to be prevented from putting their name forward? That seems unlikely to me but happy to be put straight on this point. |
