| If it's faster at all, Crossrail won't be a lot faster for some of those destinations. For Canary Wharf, it's 25 minutes from Turnham Green to Westminster on the District line, and 12 minutes from Westminster to Canary Wharf, for a total of 37 minutes not including time to change trains. Crossrail is listed at 25 minutes from Ealing Broadway to Canary Wharf, but you will have to get from Turnham Green to Ealing Broadway, which is 11 minutes, for a total time of 36 minutes excluding changes. Bear in mind that you will wait less time at Turnham Green for an eastbound train than a westbound Ealing train, as you have the Richmond trains as well. After the resignalling, you might be able to cut a couple of minutes off the eastbound tube journey by getting a Piccadilly line train. The Ealing Broadway Picadilly line trains are likely to stop at Chiswick Park so that journey time probably won't change much. Crossrail won't be lot of good for Oxford Circus as it won't stop there. By the time you change onto the Central Line at Bond Street, you will lost any gains. That's the problem with Crossrail in the centre of town. it doesn't have many stops, so for most destinations you will have to change onto a Tube train anyway. |
