Francis, Chiswick park to Ealing Broadway is currently 7 minutes. Add at least another minute to that to change platforms, and a minute or two (on average) to wait for a Crossrail train, and it's not going to be worth it. By the time you get on the Crossrail train you will be somewhere around Barons Court on the District line, and possibly further East than that if it's a Piccadilly line train that non-stops Stamford Brook and Ravenscourt Park.
Given how far apart Crossrail stations are, there is likely to be a significant walk, or a change onto a third train at the other end of the journey. Most will just use the District/Piccadilly, unless they figure out that cycling is quicker in the meantime. When I worked in Holborn, cycling was a good ten minutes quicker than the Tube from my house. |
