'I also fuly disagree with our point about religion vs. science. Religion also adapts to remain popular enought to survive.' Matthew: Science doesn't adapt interpretations of old texts and theories to 'remain popular' but to try to develop more accurate theories based on new evidence. And religious texts, usually said to be from God or a person with special powers, do not pretend to be the same as peer-reviewed and refutable scientific papers. As a non religious believer I agree that religions are man made and therefore subject to human interpretation. Science starts by acknowledging it is man made and has built methods to try to establish a way of building on evidence-base knowledge without assuming there are any sacred texts whose fundamentals can't be challenged. |
