Malcolm I think Peter Thompson's earlier statement was quite clear. I will though endeavour to get an answer to your question but the staff dealing with this contract are actively engaged in that process. I do hope you've read the LBH Scrutiny report entitled 'Review of Leisure and Cultural Services-a way forward'? I was a member of that scrutiny committee whose membership included councillors from all political parties represented on the Council. As you will see from this report, we conducted detailed research including interviewing Officers and Contractors from other borough's. Amongst other things, best practice was identified from various reports including those published by the Audit Commission and other reputable entities. We have also held regular meetings with the Officers and Executive Councillors charged with negotiating the new contract, which is a mammoth task, and robustly overseen their performance. From what I have monitored, I have every confidence in their professional skills and ability. I believe the fruits of their skills will be beneficial to Chiswick and the Borough of Hounslow. Communication Chiswick Councillors hold a surgery every Saturday at 10.30am the Chiswick Library. We are all publish our email details on the LBH website. Sometimes following these postings can be difficult given the length of the thread and the changing subject matter. We do try and if we fail, the options mentioned above are readily available.
