'Preferred' is a technical term used to describe their status under the bidding process, it means they have been selected, subject to detailed agreement on price, specification and legals, hence continuing confidentiality. (if agreement is not reched the council can go back to the unsuccessful bidders) JL staff have already met library staff and outlined their initial plans for taking over the service, which apparantly seem OK, though they would say that would'nt they! My source says that the people of Chiswick will regret not going with the previous Barley Mow plan. I don't hold out much hope for the Local History collection once the upper floors are sold off as flats........ |
