I agree. This is absolutely disgraceful. Under the old Labour administration, as everybody knows, consultation was taken extremely seriously and the will of the people was always done. Despite the seriousness of this proposal to sell of Chiswick Library to a property developer, not to mention the imminent privatisation of Hounslow Homes and the £44m which Tory councillors have stolen from the Pension Fund to pay for councillors' allowances, I can totally understand why the Labour Party, which protects our interests on the council, went voluntarily into opposition rather than allow a few residents' groups and community organisations to operate independently and elect people to positions of office who weren't members of the party. I mean, where does it all end? |
