Take your point Mark but many consultations get a much lower response rate than this. I don't know what statutory obligations the Council have to make people aware of consultations but they are probably covered by mentioning it is taking place in the Council magazine. They do the bare minimum because a higher level of response would mean more work to do processing the responses. You could argue that what they have done is inadequate, for instance how are Chiswick residents in Ealing supposed to have given their feedback on the changes? But I don't think it would get you far in reversing the decision. |
