"its hardly an accident blackspot" It depends on your definition of blackspot, of course. In the 10 years from 2005-2014 there were 48 serious injuries on Chiswick High Road, including one fatality. This is on the LB Hounslow section of Chiswick High Road between King St and Chiswick roundabout, excluding the roundabout. In contrast, over the same period on other LB Hounslow streets north of the A4, there were 11 serious injuries, including one fatality. All but one of these were on either Wellesley Road or Chiswick Lane. South of the A4, there were 18 serious injuries including one fatality. This excludes the TfL roads in W4 (A4, A316, A406) So almost double the number of serious injuries on Chiswick High Rd than the rest of the roads put together. http://www.collisionmap.london The website doesn't record slight injuries. |
